Fall 2005

• CMPSCI 611, Theory of Algorithms: (Taught by Prof. Barrington) Core course. Overall was a good course. Topics covered were divide and conquer, greedy, DP, network flow and randomized algorithms. Also a lot of time was spent on NP-completeness and approximation algorithms. Ended with Linear Programming.
• CMPSCI 691DD, Research Methods in Computer Science: (Taught by Prof. Jensen) Excellent course. Lots of reviews and a research project. Taught basics of hypothesis testing, research ethics and stuff needed to do good research (reading, writing, networking etc.).

Spring 2005

• CMPSCI 601, Computation Theory: (Taught by Prof. Immerman) Another core course. Was very interesting. Great theory with full exploration of the entire world of computability.
• CMPSCI 791T, Seminar: Mathematical Topics in Sensor Network Data Processing: (Taught by Prof. Towsley and Prof. Ganesan) Seminar on sensor networks.
• CMPSCI 796, Independent Study: Was able to publish paper on "String Edit Distance using CRFs" as part of this study.

Fall 2004

• CMPSCI 689, Machine Learning: (Taught by Prof. Mahadevan) Introduction to machine learning. A must-take course.
• CMPSCI 691E(Also CMPSCI 686), Reasoning and Acting under Uncertainty: (Taught by Prof. Zilberstein) Belief networks, inference algorithms, MDPs, POMDPs etc.
