Olsen wins Anita Borg Scholarship
Olsen is a Ph.D. student in the Biologically Inspired Neural and Dynamical Systems (BINDS) Laboratory directed by Associate Professor Hava Siegelmann. Olsen’s research focuses on cellular growth, death, mutations and tumor formation simulation and she is also interested in artificial intelligence and its potential use in biological inspired system and learning. The Google Anita Borg Memorial Scholarship is given to undergraduate and graduate students completing their degrees in computer science or related fields. The scholarship is named for the late computer scientist who devoted much of her life to encouraging women to pursue careers in technology and computing.
