SOFTWARE SPECIALISTS / SYSTEM ADMINISTRATORS
The Computer Science
Department Computing Facility is looking for dedicated
system administrators to join our team. CSCF provides high quality
service to the Computer Science Department community in software,
hardware and networking support to further our academic research
and education
missions. Department resources include nearly 1000 computer systems
running linux, Sun OS, Mac OS X, and Windows 2000 & XP on wired
and wireless networks. One to three positions.
The Software Specialist 2 is responsible for UNIX system administration
and networking, installation and maintenance of highly complex system
software, utilities, applications, and enhancements. Experience with
highly complex UNIX systems administration and networking. Experience
in programming complex software systems in languages such as C (C,
C++, Objective-C), JAVA, and PHP, and shell scripting languages like
csh,
bash, or Perl. Experience with web development using CGI and PHP for
interactive web pages and with building and supporting X-Window applications.
Requires a M.S. in Computer Science or related field and 1-2 years
experience, OR B.S. in Computer Science or related field and 3-5
years experience.
Experience in project and team management is desirable. Normal starting
salary $43,200-$49,000; up to $61,000 may be approved for exceptionally

The Software Specialist 1 is responsible for
UNIX system administration and networking. Experience in programming
software systems in languages
such as C (C, C++, Objective-C), JAVA, and PHP, and shell scripting
languages like csh, bash, or Perl. Requires a B.S. in Computer Science
or related
field and 2-4 years experience; M.S. Preferred. MAC and PC experience
is a plus. Normal starting salary $39,200-$44,600; up to $55,400 may
be approved for exceptionally qualified individuals. Respond to Search

The Associate Software Specialist 1 is responsible for the system administration
of UNIX, MAC and/or PC systems, including the use of scripting languages
like csh, bash, or Perl. Requires a B.S. in Computer Science or related
field, OR Associate degree in Computer Science or related field and
2-3 years experience. Networking and programming experience is
a plus. Normal
starting salary $32,200-$36,500; up to $45,000 may be approved for
