Mark
Corner joined the Department as an Assistant Professor this fall.
His research focuses on the performance, security, and usability
of mobile computing
systems.
Andrew
McCallum began this fall as an Associate Professor. His research
interests include natural language processing, information extraction,
Web mining, and finite-state models.

awarded four NSF ITR grants
- CS faculty are collaborating on more than $11 million
in grants from the NSF on ITR
projects which
include research in marine science, next generation high-performance
passive network infrastructure, peer-to-peer
networking theory, and novel statistical models for information extraction
and data mining.
