Biography
PhD Mathematics, MIT (1973), B.S.and M.S. in Mathematics from Carnegie-Mellon University. He joined the faculty of the Department of Computer Science at the University of Massachusetts in 1973.
Research
Professor Moll's primary research area is in interactive web-based education. He is currently principal investigator on a grant from the U.S. Department of Education entitled "Building a Java Instructor Community: An Online Plan for Improving Introductory Computer Science Teaching and Learning". Professor Moll also has a continuing interest in AI methods applied to combinatorial optimization.
Awards & Activities
Since 2002 Professor Moll has been the Computer Science Department's Associate Chair for Academic Programs. He was a 2005-2006 recipient of the College of Natural Science and Mathematics Outstanding Faculty Service Award.
