Computer Science UG Advising

REGISTRATION for FALL 2012


CMPSCI MAJORS with Advisors
Check SPIRE for your advisor assignment.  If you have two Computer Science Advisors assigned, then you have a substitute advisor for this term (remember to check the substitute advisor list).

Freshmen/First-Year Students/Applicants to the Major:  Attend the CS First-Year RAC Removal/Advising Meeting (March 27, 1:00-3:00 PM, 151 CS Bldg).  If you are unable to attend this scheduled meeting, you are welcome to visit the CS Undergrad Advising Center.  Do not confuse this meeting with the CNS mandatory Freshmen meetings.

Majors (other than Freshmen/First-Year Students):  Meet with your CS Advisor.  You will have a RAC Hold in SPIRE that will only be removed after discussing your plan with your advisor.  Contact your advisor using email to make an appointment to meet during the end of March or during the month of April, prior to your registration appointment time. If you are unable to meet with your assigned advisor, you may go to the CS Undergrad Advising Center to obtain advising and the release of your RAC Hold.

Applicants to the Major (application on file/conditionally admitted):  Attend the CS First-Year RAC Removal/Advising Meeting or visit the CS Undergrad Advising Center or email Prof. Grupen, Chief Undergraduate Advisor via grupen [at] cs [dot] umass [dot] edu (email).

CS Minors:  Visit the CS Undergrad Advising Center or email askCSminor [at] cs [dot] umass [dot] edu.

Interested Undeclared/Other Majors:  Visit the CS Undergrad Advising Center or email CSrecruiting [at] cs [dot] umass [dot] edu.
