Hybrid Predictors
- Most misprediction in G-Share comes from
aliasing, but tables have to be small
- Not all branches depend on arrival path
- Keeping branches out of the predictor
table reduces aliasing
- Tag some branches as "simple"
and predict statically, or with separate local table
- Need to adjust threshold for "simple"
designation -- possibly dynamically
