Set-Associative Features

• K-ways divide cache into sets with K lines per set
• Number of sets is S = L/K where L is the number of lines in the cache
• Each set has K tags
• K-wide comparator is almost as cheap and fast as direct mapped
• Hit ratio is more like fully-assoc.
